PAT testing is required by employers, landlords and the self-employed to ensure the safety of portable appliances. The Health & Safety Executive provides no set rules on PAT testing frequency, only that it should be done regularly to facilitate preventative maintenance.

When determining how often you should have your appliances tested, you should bear this is mind – equipment that is used more should be tested more frequently. This equipment is likely to suffer more wear and tear than appliances that are used less regularly.

Users should also remember to report any noticeable damage to the equipment they’re using, as soon as possible, to reduce the chance of it becoming a hazard.

Brook Electrical are committed to ensuring your electrical appliances are safe and thoroughly tested, guaranteeing their long-term safety.
